Pinoys can finally meet their favorite Korean stars in November—but only if they demand it.

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Philippines-Republic of Korea Diplomatic Relations, the Korean embassy is holding a cultural festival November this year.

The festival will also cap year 2009 as the “Philippines-Republic of Korea Friendship Year,” as stated by Proclamation No. 14298 signed by Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo last May 2008.

PEP had a chance to talk to Kiejoo Kim, Counselor for the Korean Embassy in the Philippines, last Thursday, Sept. 17, at Shangri-La Plaza Cinema 3 during the press screening for the upcoming Korean Film Festival in Shangri-La Plaza Cinema 3.

Kim said his Embassy is planning to bring Korean performers to the country.

“We are looking forward to a lot of events in November,” he said. “There will be a cultural event, and we are going to invite cultural performers from Korea so that we can share our cultural legacy.”

PEP asked Kim if the Korean Embassy is planning to include among the cultural performers the Korean pop (K-pop) stars currently making waves in the Philippine music scene today.

“I’m not in a position to guarantee who we can bring to the RP,” Kim answered. “We will try our very utmost to bring our well-renowned Korean stars so that we can really enjoy together with the Filipino people.”

But Kim quickly added that the plan can push through easily if Pinoys loudly voice out their demand, using surveys, blogs, signature drives, and other platforms.

“I think if there is a certain, a great number of audience, I think that should be a very convincing rationale that we really have to bring them here,” Kim affirmed.

Besides, Kim said, the cultural festival will be borne out of “gratitude” felt by the Koreans to the Filipinos, who helped them achieve democracy and freedom in their country 54 years ago.

In 1950, the Philippines sent 7,000 troops to the East Asian country to fight in the Korean war, which ended five years later. It was fought between the Republic of Korea (South) and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North).

Kim added that this “sound” relationship made way for the two countries to forge close ties and enhance cooperation in other fields, like education.

Kim explained that similarities between the two cultures paved way for Koreans to migrate to the Philippines. This is why Pinoys enjoy Korean pop culture, he added.

“I think it’s because of cultural affinity, and the way we feel grateful for the Filipino people. I personally feel quite amazed how the Filipino people enjoy and appreciate telenovela from Korea. That is so impressive, we really appreciate that you enjoy the Korean culture so much.”

Examples of drama series that became hits in the Philippines are Autumn In My Heart, Jewel In the Palace, Full House, Stairway to Heaven, and Lovers In Paris—the last two currently being adapted by GMA-7 and ABS-CBN, respectively, as local versions.

And even if Korean songs are not played over the Philippine radio, legions of Pinoy fans are still using the Internet to enjoy music from K-pop stars like Wonder Girls, Rain, SNSD, Super Junior, DBSK, Se7en, BoA, TVXQ, 2PM, Big Bang and 2NE1’s Sandara Park.

Meanwhile, Super Junior’s ‘Sorry Sorry’ album released in the Philippines on 4th September is flying off music charts there.

Though there are mixed feelings about the Kpop invasion as can be seen from the netizens’ responses – Kpop is indeed invading many parts of Asia

Yep it's finally here and it's heartbreaking for fangirl and fanboys because of the Kiss scene! I Don't Care Unplugged and 2NE1 on Kim Jung Eun's Chocolate

They performed it live, they remixed it and now the fierce group 2NE1 did the unplugged version of I Don't Care. Once again the girls showed a different side of them, creating a relaxing mood as they serenaded the crowd with their chart topper song I Don't Care in SBS Inkigayo. Check them here:

Last August 29 the episode where 2NE1 was featured in Kim Jung Eun's Chocolate was aired. 2NE1 performed their hit songs Fire and I Don't Care and they even did solo performances. CL rapped to the song Doo Wop, Dara singed and danced with J-lo's Get right, Bom made the crowd drool with her version of Crazy In Love, and maknae Minzy wowed the crowd with her Sexy Back dance. Just recently rumors started spreading about Min Ho and Dara doing a CF together. They were both spotted filming in Gangnam, Seoul. And today the rumors have been confirmed. Yes my dear readers Dara and MinHo will be together on a CF for OB Beer's Cass 2X.

One of the biggest stars in Korea nowadays Lee Min Ho and Sandara Park of 2NE1 will have a theme based on the way how young couples love.

OB Beer's Marketing Manager stated:

"We chose top stars Lee Minho and Sandara Park as their trendy image matches perfectly with the image of our Cass beer. We're staying in touch with the younger generation and this CF will start a new trend."

And some trivia: On one of the episode of 2NE1TV Minzy, CL and Bom were teasing Dara about Min Ho. They said that Dara is crushing on Lee Min Ho.

Following the steps taken by Daniel Henney, Lee Byung Hun, and Gianna Jun, Jae Hee is the next Korean actor to be seen in Hollywood.

If you're not very familiar with him, well you might at least remember him from these Korean dramas he did. He was seen in the dramas Delightful Girl ChoonHyang, Witch Yoo Hee, and 3 Dads and a Mom. As of now Jae Hee is in the military service and soon he will be in the Hollywood film Tekken where he'll play the role of a 19-year old taekwondo master Hwoarang.

This is great news for Jae Hee fans (like me). We haven't seen him for so long and now his comeback is not only on the big screen its Hollywood! Be sure to check it out because I know I will.

B2Y Brings Disco Craze in the Kpop Scene

4-member group B2Y (Babyboys To Yearningirls) is set to debut in the Kpop zone.

With members born in 1988 – JinWoong, Rika, Naraand eldest HanYeon (26) will bringing the disco craze to the teenagers. Normally for a group 1 to 2 of the members will be the main vocal while the others will be the rapper and doing the dancing, but for B2Y there will be 3 main vocals and 1 rapper.

They will be bringing up the retro craze with songs of the same feelings as ABBA’s ‘Mama Mia’ and Grease’s ‘Saturday Night Fever’. Even though this is the genre which people in the 30s and 40s will be familiar be, this group will be targeting at the teenager listeners.

All 4 members are known to be mulitainer who are vocally strong, ability to play musical instruments and also winners at ‘UlJjang competition’.

Rika, who took part in the musical ‘Rent’ this year, is also known to be the merry-maker of the group. While JinWoong who is currently in a theatre group in university and was the lead vocal to a downtown rock band.

Nara who graduated from national arts high school, won a daesang at the national traditional music competition performing the gayageum. HanYeon, who is the leader of the group, debuted as a uljjang model and is versed in drums percussion performance.

This group is a group groomed by Lee JungMoo who did music for Kim JongKook and Jo SungMo etc for a few years.

Take A Peek at F4's Photobook

Just when you thought you won't be hearing about it, at least not so soon. It was revealed yesterday that a Boys Over Flowers photo book will soon be released in Korea and Japan, to further cash in on the popularity of the drama which caught Korea by storm earlier in the year.

The photo book which is titled Story of Four Flowers (SOFF), captures the F4 members of Lee Min Ho, Kim Hyun Joong, Kim Bum and Kim Joon at their charming best, with pre-orders beginning on 17th August. Even though the publisher are only taking in pre-orders at the moment for the 168 pages photo book, the response have been very encouraging. It was revealed that fans who buy the photo book will be able to see the F4 members, together with the natural beautiful scenery of Korea as the backdrop, showcasing a different charisma from their drama characters. There will also be a DVD included which contains private movie clips.

Dara In Manila [Fancam]

I've searched for some Dara videos because she's here in the Philippines and honestly there are lots of them. But what stood out [for me] is the fancam from CASSPH. Yeah they are 2NE1 fans too and they're proud of it. I translated some of the conversations so here you go:

Sorry I can't hear the conversation very well but I did understand one question for Dara.
MYX: So what do you think are the differences of Filipino fans and Korean fans?
Dara: I think they're the same but Korean fans are more sensitive to loveteams unlike here.

2nd part of the interview:
Myx: So far what activities have you done since you came back from Korea?
Dara: A while ago, I arrived at around 12noon and I went to the restaurant to eat sinigang. Then I went to the studio for the taping of Ruffa and Ai then went on a tour at Star Magic and Talent Center and then I went here right away.

Myx: When will they broadcast your episode on Ruffa and Ai so they can watch it?
Dara: ~oh~ I didn't ask...[laughter] I'll just ask later.

Myx: I guess they just have to see for themselves maybe tomorrow or on Monday. Cheska wants to know what's your motto?
Dara: My motto in life? I can live by. I can do this, that's what I always think.

Myx: Pls. sing a few lines from your song I Don't Care
Dara: My part or...? [sings her part][applauds] This is embarassing. I didn't get to sleep last night that's why my voice isn't happy.

Myx: Are you going to have a meet and greet with your fans?
Dara: I'd like to if there's time. But i really don't know when it'll be possible.

Myx: Aside from Ruffa and Ai are there any other shows where you'll be guesting like Wowowee and Entertainment Live?
Dara: Yah I'll be guesting on E! Live.So I'll see you there.

Myx: So when will you release your full length album?
Dara: Our plan is on October. So I hope by October it will be released.

Myx: What is your album's title?
Dara: We don't know yet, it's not yet processed.

Myx: When your in Korea, what do you usually do on your free time?
Dara: Free time? We don't have free time. We're always on the dance studio for hours if you watch 2ne1tv we're on the studio or at the house chatting, eating and some of us sleep.

Myx: How do you take care of your skin 'cause you have beautiful skin
Dara: I feel shy 'cause my skin is not that beautiful. I don't do anything, sometimes I put something and gets some massage.

Myx: Do you get to watch Philippine shows when you're in Korea?
Dara: No, but sometimes I watch dvd's of my movies and I find them funny.[laughter]

Myx:Tell us your experience in making the video for Lollipop
Dara: That was our first project and we we're with BigBang that's why we we're really nervous. We didn't sleep for 1 week rehearsing for the dance and we we're all tired.

Myx: Did you miss some of your loveteams?
Dara: [laughs] Sometimes...when I watch my movies I miss the old memories. [crowd tease]

Myx: Are you going to guest on Asap 09 on sunday?
Dara: No, too bad 'cause I have to go back on sunday. Maybe next time I'll be there with the girls.

Myx: Are you really going to have a cameo appearance on Style?
Dara: Yes, we taped it two days ago. I think they'll broadcast it this sunday.

Myx: What gifts would you like to receive on your birthday?
Dara: Sinigang?[laughter] Dried mangoes from Cebu.

Myx: If you would be given a chance to make a movie or drama in Korea who would you want to be paired with and what theme?
Dara: I want a lovestory with comedy, I think that would suit me well.

Myx: A fan of Bom wants to know if Bom is kind
Dara: Yes she is, and she's hilarious too. Her voice is so cute she's like a baby but when she sings 'Wow she's so good'

Myx:Tell us more about the other girls do kid around when you're with them?
Dara: we have a huge age difference but when we're together we are real friends. Sometimes I feel like Minzy and CL are my older sisters and I'm the youngest. We are funny and very loud when talking.

Myx: Who writes the song for 2NE1?
Dara: Kuya Teddy of 1TYM [kuya means older brother] he composes our songs and Kush and GD of BigBang.

Myx: Who do you like in Boys Over Flowers
Dara: Base on the character I like Gu Jun Pyo. Because he acts like he doesn't like her[Jandi] although deep inside he really likes her.

Dara: [singing Take A Bow] My version is like a kids version.[laughter]
Myx: Who decides on what part a member gets to sing?
Dara: The four of us talk about it and decide who gets to sing the part.

Myx:How about the dance? Who choreographs your dance? And how do you arrange the blockings?
Dara: We have a dance instructor but lately Mr. YG himself arranges the blockings, he's with us every sunday.

Myx: So for sure when your album is released on October you'll be having shows all over Korea. Will you have an Asian tour as well? And are you going here in Manila for the Asian Tour?
Dara: Hmm I really don't know. But if there's a chance I'd love to perform here.

Myx: What Tagalog words have you taught the other girls?
Dara: I first taught them the word "Mabuhay" that's why they're always shouting mabuhay [Mabuhay means long live] and I taught them "Mahal Ko Kayo", but CL said "What? Mahal Kiki? And I said "No, Mahal ko kayo, Mahal kita like that. [Mahal ko kayo = I love you all; Mahal kita= I love you]. I also taught them to say "Ako si Bom, Ako si CL, Ako si Minzy." [ I am Bom, I am CL, I am Minzy]

Myx:Message to your Filipino fans
Dara: Thank you so much. I'm really touched. I didn't know our song was a big hit here. Please anticipate as well for the other songs. Thank you so much. I'll be back here.

Myx: If you get a chance to bring 2NE1 here in the Philipines where's the first place you'll take them?
Dara:We want to go to Boracay. We even agreed about it but we don't know when and how long we'll stay there.

Updates on Daesung's Condition

After getting in a car accident on 11th August, it has been revealed that Big Bang DaeSung’s injuries are more serious as they were made out to be.

A representative said on 13th August, “The CT scan results came out on 12th August, the bone that encompasses the left eye is also fractured. This part will have to be treated when DaeSung undergoes surgery for his nose injuries.”

With that, the rep said, “With the diagnosis results out, we will have to extend the treatment period from 6 weeks to 8 weeks.” Before the precise diagnosis, DaeSung has already have 15 stitches for the injuries on his arm.

Aww, Let's all pray for him to get well soon.

G-Dragon and His Heartbreaker Photo Concept

All this time, he has been spotted with different hairstyle – apply hair, mohican, bangs etc, and this time he is back with blonde hair.

YG Entertainment said, “GDragon, who has entered YG at the age of 13, has been producing and being a member of Big Bang all this time, and this is his first solo album in more than 10 years. There will be 10 songs in his solo album this time. And he will show music that is with GDragon’s colours and styles.”

Line Up for 2009 Asia's Song Festival

It has been known that Big Bang and 2NE1 will be participating in 2009 Song Festival.

Korea Foundation for International Culture Exchange has revealed the 2nd line-up to the 6th Asia Song Festival on 11st August.

And for the 2nd line-up, it has been known that groups Big Bang and 2NE1 will be participating in the event. Other than that, Japanese popular group V6 and Hong Kong singer-actor Eken Zheng YiJian will also be participating in the event.

It was known that groups Super Junior and So Nyeo Shi Dae will be participating for the event when the 1st line-up was revealed earlier. And now 2 more Korean singer groups Big Bang and 2NE1 joins the list, representing Korea for the song festival.

2009 Asia Song Festival will be held on 19th September in Seoul WorldCup Stadium.

Kim Joon is Ambassador of Incheon City

Kim Joon was now known as the icon of Incheon City. To go along with this, Songdo Park Hotel in Incheon city has design one of their hotel room and named it as ‘Kim Joon’s Room’.

Recently Kim Joon was appointed as the ambassador for Incheon City by the Incheon Tourism Organization. At the same time he was also selected as the main actor of film ‘The Korean Wave Star who introduce Incheon to you’.

Being acting in ‘Boys Before Flowers’ has made Kim Joon as one of the Korean Wave Star. Incheon Tourism Organizations mentioned they hope to influence and promote Incheon to Asia by Kim Joon’s popularity.

In order to promote carried out an active campaign to promote Incheon, Incheon Tourism Organization has also make this special arrangements to prepare a special ‘Kim Joon’s Room’ in the Songdo Park Hotel during their official opening on the 5th August.

There are lot of places in Incheon were being filmed in the promotion video ‘Kim Joon - Happy Present Meet Incheon’. Places like Soreapogu Seafood market, Chinatown, Jayu (Freedom) Park, Hongyemun and Shinpo market.

Kim Joon’s company said: “Kim Joon would not only remain in the name of the ambassador, but he would make every effort to let the whole of Asia to understand Incheon better. We also have plans to publicize Incheon tourism during the promotion campaign that was held on the 13th August in Shizuoka, Japan.”

SES Supports Bada

S.E.S members Bada, Eugene and Shoo has come together again.

Bada posted up new photos on her minihompy on 10th August of her taken together with Shoo and Eugene. The 2 of them had showed up at MBC Music Core to show support for Bada’s comeabck stage.

The photos show the 3 of them still very close together after their debut as group S.E.S more than 10 years ago. Bada also thanked Eugene who performed on stage together with her, “Eugene ah, thank you so much for the cool performance. Your stage manners are ‘jjang(best)’. I should learn from you too.”

And also to Shoo who showed at the dressing room back stage to Music Core, “Even though you were down with flu, you came and I was very touched. Unnie has prepared flu medicine, panacea and tiger palm at home.”

Meanwhile, Bada recently released her 4th comeback album and is promoting the title song ‘Mad’.

Byung-hun Lee is already a big star in Korea, and with his classic good looks and kick-butt role in the live-action G.I. Joe movie, he's ready to become a big deal in outside of of Asia...

CBM: Tell us about your character "Stormshadow"

Byung-hun Lee: Actually, I didn't have any idea of G.I. Joe and Stormshadow because in Asia it is not a well known cartoon. They didn't show it. When I first got the script from my agent, I was not familiar, so, I had to learn about the history of G.I. Joe and especially my character. So, I learned a lot from Stephen, Lorenzo and the other actors and actresses. As you know, Stormshadow has a lot of pride. For example, he doesn't kill anybody without any reason. He's a martial arts expert.

CBM: What martial arts are you involved with. I'm assuming Tae Kwon Do?

Byung-hun Lee: Right. Tae Kwon Do is my main martial art. And there is a little bit of difference between the styles of Snake-eyes and Stormshadow. Snake-eyes (Ray Park) is based on Wu-shu--which is Chinese, and Stormshadow is based on Korean Tae-Kwon-do. So Snake-eyes is more flash and movement, and Stormshadow has simple but strong movement.

CBM: Are you mainly using weapons in your fights? It seems as though Stormshadow always has his swords out.

Byung-hun Lee: I have swords, but I usually use my kicks.

CBM: There has been a lot of criticism of the live-action movie. What would you tell the critics to convince them to see the movie?

Byung-hun Lee: This is a light-hearted movie, and its good to enjoy and have fun. In Japan, Marlon (Wayans) told audience "Better Fasten Seat Belts." I think that was a good speech for this film.

CBM: What did you like best about working with Ray Park?

Byung-hun Lee: In the movie he is the enemy, and we hate each other, but in real life we are really good friends. We had to train a lot together before the production, so we are so close. And he is REALLY good at Martial arts. His movements are so flashy and skillful.

CBM: He said in an interview that you trained 5 days for the climactic fight scene between Snake-eyes and Stormshadow. Is that right?

Byung-hun Lee: Yeah, Yeah, of course. And there are a lot of fight scenes in this movie.

CBM: How about Sienna Miller? What is the relationship between Stormshadow and The Baroness? Is there a love interest there?

Byung-hun Lee: (Laughs) Yeah, actually we talked about that a lot--as a joke. As you know, the relationship between us is... Stormshadow is the Master for her. There is a line I say, "You are my best student." In the press conference in Korea, she (Sienna) talked about that maybe in the sequel there could be romance between Stormshadow and The Baroness.

CBM: What was it like for you to promote this in Korea? You're already well-known there, right?

Byung-hun Lee: It was really great. Sienna Miller and Channing Tatum, Stephen, Lorenzo, they all told me they'd never seen that kind of red carpet at a press conference before. There were a lot of fans and they were freaking out.

CBM: I'm assuming you're signed on for sequels?

Byung-hun Lee: Three. And I would come back to play Stormshadow if they make them.

CBM: Well, thank you for your time.

Byung-hun Lee: It was my honor. Thank you.

Joo Ji Hoon is Sentencend with 120 hours of Community Service

Joo Ji Hoon is now working hard to accept his punishment for taking drugs. He received an order from the court to provide services to the community beginning of this month in Seoul, Songpa-Gu (송파구).
Songpa-Gu remains at the eastern part of Seoul where protection, observation and services are given for the disabled and elderly.

According to the person in charge, Joo Ji Joon has to participate in the community service activities for 8 to 9 hours each day. Joo Ji Joon has to report to the protection center from 9am to 6pm daily and provided many kinds of social services.

Most of the time Joo Ji Hoon would be providing community services for the children and the disabled. On the 6th August, he participate in the bathing services activities held by the local welfare organizations by helping the disabled to bathe. In future, he would be providing community services like these for the next 3 weeks.

The person in charge continue: “Earlier this month when Joo Ji Hoon came to the protection center, he wore a hat and looks extremely sad. Recently he became more cheerful as he started to participate in the social services activities. He also revealed that he would continue to do those things to help the needy even if he has completed the order to provide community services to the center.”

Due to taking drugs together with his colleagues, he was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment, suspended for 1 year and 120 hours of community service orders.

Known as the female Big Bang, 2NE1 will be performing Big Bang’s hit song from 2007 ‘Last Farewell’ on SBS Inkigayo on 9th August.

They will be performing with their own colours and style, as a girlgroup with a fresh feeling choreography set, putting up another stylish performance.

It was revealed that Lee Dong Wook (27) and Kim Hyun Joo (31) from KBS2TV's Partner drama might also be dating each other.

Both Kim Hyun Joo and Lee Dong Wook are currently acting as a pair of squabbling lawyers in a lawyer firm for KBS2TV's Partner. Although they have had their issues, they gradually grow to have an affection for each other and fall in love. So how did their scandal came about? It begun with them arriving late for filming sessions simultaneously one after another recently.
The pair had a scheduled filming session at the KBS building in Yeouido island on the morning of 2nd August and both arrived late together. On that day, both of them did not take their company's vehicle but drove their own vehicles to the filming site, piquing the curiosity of the production crew. The following day on the 3rd, they arrived late again and everyone had to wait for them before they could start filming. In the early morning hours of 1st August, both Kim Hyun Joo and Lee Dong Wook disappeared all of a sudden from the site after they were done with filming, which led to many thinking.
With regards to this, their respective management agencies denied that they were dating, "It's true that they are now very close with each other, but they are not dating The scandal probably started because they have the same schedules and are often seen together on the filming set." They also expressed that Kim Hyun Joo and Lee Dong Wook often hang out with the production crew and friends after filming for meals, etc.

A production staff said, "They weren't familiar with each other before the drama. But it's apparent to everyone that they have become much more closer in this past month on the filming set. Hyun Bin and Song Hye Gyo had met on the set of KBS2TV's The World They Live In as the leading couple. And now they have been dating for two months.
Hyun Bin's managment agency said, "They have not been dating for a long time. After The World They Live In finished, they continued to stay in touch, and that is probably how they became closer." Song Hye Gyo's management also confirmed in a phone interview that she is currently dating Hyun Bin and that their relationship is stable.

Hyun Bin who was in Pusan filming for his drama, Friend, Our Legend not long ago, was spotted constantly calling and texting Song Hye Gyo during breaks in between filming. I Don't Care wins Song of the Month

Scary newcomer’ 2NE1’s ‘I Don’t Care’ has won the award of the ‘Song of the Month’ on Cyworld Digital Music Awards (DMA) with one of best album sales, renewing the record set by group Big Bang.

Big Bang had won the ‘Song of The Month’ with their previous hit ‘Haru Haru’ and now 2NE1 is back to renew the record set by their seonbae.

Also 2NE1 has received the honours of the highest winning records this year – winning awards with ‘Lollipop’ for the 34th DMA, and also 2 awards with ‘Fire’ on the 35th DMA, and this month they won again with ‘I Don’t Care’.

Not only so, 2NE1 is taking music charts and music shows countdown by storm. ‘I Don’t Care’ has so far won #1 for 3 weeks through on KBS Music Bank, #1 on SBS Inkigayo for 2 weeks through, and also a #1 on Mnet M!Countdown. Also they have sold over 70K copies of their 1st minialbum up till now.

Even though we have many singers and seonbae coming back to release their album recently, 2NE1 continues to sell about 1K album copies per day.

SBS Inkigayo's Girl Group Special

Ever wondered what would have happened if the different girl groups of today collaborated? I wonder too, and I would love to see that happen. And to my surprise its really going to happen, yay for all of us!

On SBS Inkigayo to be aired on 9th August, it will be a special episode of ‘Summer School Vacation special part II – Girl Group Special’.

Recently, the phenomenon of the inflood of girlgroups like So Nyeo Shi Dae, 2NE1, Brown Eyed Girls, etc has raised the interests for this Girl Group Special episode.

For this special, there will be a joint stage amongst the girlsgroups and also a special VTR ‘Chat of the Young Girls’.

There will be 5 representative teams for this special episode and each team will send out their representative for this special VTR filming.

The 5 teams are So Nyeo Shi Dae, 2NE1, KARA, Brown Eyed Girls and 4Minute. And about 1-2 members fro the team are selected for the VTR filming.

Recently, we also know the recent tweet from a Twitter account that used Hero’s name saying this :

This has been a topic, since in the Twitter account, the account owner writes in English though not a perfect one, that is why many people say that is not Jaejoong in real.

Yet, today, I read a news on a korean site ‘Star Moneytalk‘ stated that as of today (Aug 4) They confirmed to Hero Jaejoong in person whether he wrote the tweet himself or not, and Jaejoong-ee has CONFIRMED that he wrote the tweet !

OMO, that means, along this time, the account is real !

Rain and his 5 Member Boy Group

World Star Rain will be debuting a 5-member boyband whom he has groomed and trained personally.

Rain will be the producer of this group and he has been helping with the preparations of their debut.

The group is given the nickname ‘5-member Rain’, is a project which Rain has worked on for quite a period even though he has been busying doing filming overseas.

Rain has been preparing to debut a solo male singer and a male group since last year. And the female new singer whom he plans to debut this year has been set to debut beginning of next year instead. And the 5-member boyband will debut before the other singer projects.

Many eyes are on how Rain will perform as a producer, after the great names that have come out in the Kpop industry like SM, JYP and YG.

Female group Brown Eyed Girls coming back with their 3rd album speaks highly of their juniors 2NE1.

In a recent interview, they said, “2NE1 are a group of capable girls and they appeal to us. When we look at ourselves when we were still newcomers, we must have appeared more nervous than enjoying ourselves, but 2NE1 looks like they are enjoying themselves even though they may be nervous inside, and that side of them is good.”

Member Narsha also said, “Even though these friends are young, they are able to pull off their song with their own charms and capabilities. They also have their individuality and their own talents. Looking at them makes me look forward to their next performance.”

Brown Eyed Girls debuted in 2006 with their debut album ‘Your Story’, and they recently came back with their 3rd album, “Since we have been singers for 4 years, we are no longer newcomers. With our promotions this time, we felt like we have become senior singers.”

And about being the senior singers amongst the flood of girlgroups recently, they added, “We are back to show our place as a long-running girlgroup with this 3rd album promotions.”

SM Entertainment's Refute

SM Entertainment refuted TVXQ's claims and stated that since their debut up until this month (July 2009), TVXQ has earned more than 11 billion won (over $9,000,000). They stated that despite the huge losses and budget problems that SM Entertainment has had these past years, the boys were paid royally (around $1,800,000 each) and that they also received high end products as gifts (cars, music players, LCD TV's, etc.) SM Entertainment stated that the $9,000,000 earned doesn't include the money that TVXQ received from Endorsements / CF's, Events, Photo Ops, Signings, Japan sales, etc. SM Entertainment also stated that there is no law stating that a contract for an artist cannot be sign for more than 7 years. They concluded saying that they will try to resolve these issues immediately.

It looks like SM Entertainment is trying to make themselves look like the victims here, which you would expect. But all this negative news isn't good for the company, as stocks fell around 10%. Here is the news according to Forbes:

"**S.M. ENTERTAINMENT SLIDES ON NEWS OF LEGAL FEUD**
S.M. Entertainment Co fell after several media reported on Saturday that members of Tong Bang Shin Gi (TVXQ), a South Korean boy band, filed an injunction in a Seoul court to terminate their contract with the talent agency.

'For investors, it's reasonable to worry over the news, since Tong Bang Shin Gi is one of the major sources of revenue for SM Entertainment,' said Kim Chang-kwon, an analyst at Daewoo Securities.

S.M. Entertainment could not be reached for a comment.

S.M. Entertainment shares fell 10.06 percent to 3,755 won as of 0141 GMT"

DBSK's Xiah, Hero and Micky Official Statements

Xiah, Hero and Micky finally gave their statements on the ongoing dispute between them and SM Entertainment. Clearing off the rumors of disbanding.

Their lawyer stated on behalf of the three boys, "During the five years after they debuted, the company has done whatever they wanted which made the body and spirit of the members of TVXQ very tired. The 13 year exclusive contract is too long that, which to them, feels like a life long contract. The members don't receive what they deserve."

Because of the carelessness of the company, Korea's No.1 boys have been suffering from both mental and physical fatigue and feel that they are just being used for profit for the company. Not only are there standards that have to be met in order to be paid at all, the boys also receive only a few hours of sleep a day, which is nothing close to what just one day in their schedule needs! Additionally, the 13 year long contract, which excludes the time they will be completing their military activities, will exceed over a mind boggling 15 years.... and it hasn't even been close to 13 years yet! Although the boys have considered it, cancelling the contract is also out of the question, as there is a huge price to pay - approximately a several billion South Korea won (KRW).

The lawyer expressed, "The members don't want to disband, but they just feel that the contract is ridiculous. Right now, the things each of the three members want is a little different, however, the relationship between the members is still unaffected, as they still want to be one."
TVXQ's reasons:

1. During the five years after debut, the members were forced to follow a strict and tight schedule according to their company which made them very tired.

2. The 13 year exclusive contract is basically a lifetime contract.

3. The members aren't getting what they deserve from SM.

4. Multiple times had the members suggested that their contract be revised, but the company did not listen to the members' opinions.

5. The outcome of their cosmetics shop has nothing to do with our singing career.

6. The members have never wanted the disbandment of our group. The issue just spurred from the boys wanting some freedom from the contract.

7. Although we have caused some ruckus, we will only become better from here.

Phone Interview with DBSK's Legal Representative

Rumor has it that 5 member boy group Dong Bang Shin Ki is going to be disbanded. Xiah, Micky and Hero filed a lawsuit against SM Entertainment and now we'll hear from their Legal Representaive.

Phone interview is held with the 3 member’s Legal Representative, Im Sang Hyeok from SeJong.

- The core of the disagreement.

Unreasonable contract. In the Fair Trade Commission, the contract period should not be longer than 7 years. Of course, during the trainee period there are occassion that the singers choose to develop their contract but some of the terms given to Dong Bang Shin Ki, FTC have find it unfair in many ways.

- Also the cosmetics enterprise which three member and their parents running became known as one axis of the conflict.

“The cosmetics company could be one of the reasons for the discord but not what ultimately convinced the three members to go to court. We have examined the official statement from SM this morning and noticed that SM had painted the cosmetics company as the cause in a negative light on the surface of their statement. If they think that the additional business of the members is the legal case, then it’s a mistake.”

- There’s a conclusion appearing about the crisis that the activities of 3 members who file the lawsuit will be stopped?

(I cant understand this one in details, but basically he said that the members would continue if their disposition is approved, and he hoped it would be soon. The court’s desicion is now in the middle of the most important and difficult variables and he had goal to finish the case within 6 months.)

- The possibility of winning?

“To see it on the bright side… SM Entertainment has in the past been ordered by the Korea FTC several times to reform contracts for violating the standard contract limits. TVXQ are now appealing for the parts that are different from the FTC terms.

- Before taking the legal action, it’s said that the members did not try to make consultation with the agency before.

“We have tried to solve the problem through dialogue. Members had even met directly with the agency. While I was also trying to resolve the problem through multiple channels. However, the agency ignored members opinions, therefore a legal appeal finally made. The members are very sorry to the fans as well.

- What is the conflict regarding to cosmetic issue?

“Should an agency has a fight with artists who are having family’s personal investment? Other celebrities are common to have additional business. Moreover, the three members had already made consultation process with agency representative, Kim Young-Min before they started the cosmetic business, but we feel betrayed then as the company told another story later on.

- TVXQ has already taken the step, but eventually dismantled

“We have already tried many ways, but all the efforts finally bring us here. We’re not too hasty to be in this position. We create legal procedure first before we present every single new plan. The 5 people based their activities together in SM Entertainment, therefore it will not be easy to be in our situation now. “

- Is there a plan for press conference?

It’s necessary but as for now, we don’t have any plan yet. The members are really sorry now to the fans. Actually we want to proceed this case undisturbed.

In addition, according to him as well, from Star News that the members have never been informed with the accurate details of their income from the agency. Therefore in general, the members asked a claim to clean up the damage regarding this matter. As for now, the law firm can not confirm clearly the details of income submitted in the same application.

Lee Min Ho, Goo Hye Sun and Kim Bum reunited to show support for their Boys Over Flowers co-star and friend Kim Hyun Joong who’s back in the concert scene with his group SS501. Sweet!

The threesome were seen together watching SS501’s concert at the Olympic Park Gymnastics Stadium in Seoul. I read that Kim Joon was supposed to show up too but unfortunately his musical Youth March had a show running.

Actress Gu Hyesun is seen in SS501 1st day concert along together with fellow Flower Boys ‘Kimbum’ and Lee Minho.

Hyesun stated that she visited the fellow Flower Boy Kim Hyunjoong in the waiting room.” Kim Hyunjoong expressed his thank you for my attendance “, she says while laughing.

Gu Hyesun, Kimbum, and Gu Hyesun arrived at the concert site 1 hour earlier, so they can meet and chat with Kim Hyunjoong.

All of them met in the Boys over Flowers drama, and being friends since then.

SS501 will also visit Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand for their Asia Tour Concert.

Why does Kim Joon feel Lonely?

Before his live performance on KBS2TV Music Bank this evening, Kim Joon revealed his frustrations at doing solo promotions. He told reporters during the afternoon rehearsals, "It's very lonely doing solo promotions."

Kim Joon had been doing solo promotions recently with his song, Joon! Be Ok and had received a good response from fans. He added, "It's more tiring than when promoting with T-Max. I have to do everything by myself unlike the past where the workload is shared. I have a bigger burden."

Kim Joon is fast cementing his position as an all-round entertainer. Besides going solo on music shows, Kim Joon is a permanent fixture on Invincible Baseball Team variety show while also doing a musical Youth March. He became an instant box-office draw as ticket sales for the musical went up by 30%, a near sellout, when he performed for the first night (he rotates with another guy). His musical ends on 25th October.

Kim Joon said, "You need a lot of preparation before you act in a musical but I didn't. So it might look like I am lacking in a lot of areas. But I am giving it my best shot for the musical. I am also very happy for the support that my fans are giving me."

We’ve seen the promotional photos (and Yoon Eun-hye’s character photos) for KBS’s new drama My Fair Lady [aka Please Take Care of the Young Lady, 아가씨를 부탁해]. Now the production has released the first set of still shots from the drama’s first day of filming; the show’s inaugural shoot took place on July 24 in Ilsan (Kyunggi province) and Seoul.

In these scenes, Yoon’s character is ordered to do community service. (I’m just speculating, but perhaps as punishment for rich-bish bad behavior? I wonder if this has something to do with how she meets Jung Il-woo’s human-rights lawyer character.) Therefore, she ends up at a children’s day-care center, looking after kids and cleaning out a chicken coop. Her character is an arrogant and difficult “princess” type from a rich family.

Yoon Sang-hyun, on the other hand, used to work at a nightclub, is poor, and comes to be Yoon’s household manager/butler.

My Fair Lady premieres August 19.

Lee Chang Min, the eldest of the group said that he would choose Yuri from So Nyeo Shi Dae. Jo Kwon chose HyunA of 4Minute and Jinwoon chose 2NE1’s Sandara Park.

Entertainment Live is like a Philippine version of E! and yesterday they featured 2NE1. I think the interview was conducted when 2ne1 made their comeback stage on SBS Inkigayo. Though I'm from the Philippines, I'm so frustrated I didn't get to watch it because I have a class! But then again its still a huge thanks that 2NE1PH uploaded the video. So to all you guys who haven't seen the video here it is:

Yes that's it. Did you see the wave they did when they said we love you all? Well that's one of Sandara's trademarks here in the Philippines. Pinoys loved her because of that cute wave while saying 'Mahal ko kayo'[I love you all]. So the interview mainly focused on Sandara and what she misses here in the Philippines. But it was really good to hear CL, Bom and Minzy's voices. And did you see how shy maknae Minzy was when she said 'Ako Minji'[I Minji]. Digging to know what's up with Ku Hye Sun after Boys Over Flowers? Well I have some news for you about her. She did an interview for Elle Girl and you can read it here:

Elle Girl (EG): You surprised [everyone] by publishing a novel this spring; this time it’s drawings. What are you feelings about opening your first art exhibition at La Mer Gallery?
Ku Hye Sun (KHS): I’ve thought about it from awhile ago, but I didn’t know that it would be exhibited like this. After receiving the proposal from WITH (YG Entertainment’s charity campaign), I figured it would be more meaningful to do it [like this] than by myself and proceeded quickly.

EG: I’m aware that you dreamt about entering an Arts high school back in your schooling days. How did you become familiar with pictures?
KHS: I liked drawing pictures since I was young. And my friends and I would also paint murals on our neighbourhood walls. But my skills weren’t particularly outstanding, just to the level that my teacher would occasionally post a picture I drew in art class on the classroom wall. The friends I hung out with were so multi-talented that I never thought that I grew up without thinking that I was special. But now I often hear the words, ‘Why do you do so many [activities]?’

EG: You seem like the type of student who is diligent and continually trying to learn something.
KHS: Not at all. My mother always worried about my laziness. However, I’m the type that when I decide to do something, I push forward in a short amount of time. If it took me 100 days to draw pictures, I’m actually the type to play for ninety-nine days and concentrate for one day to draw. My method is to push when the feeling comes.

EG: I heard that you completed your novel Tango while filming Boys Over Flowers. Does exceptional strength flow when you push ahead with something? Your first novel was received quite positively [considering it was done under those circumstances].
KHS: Many have asked the question, “Why is Yeon Yee (Tango’s female protagonist) so popular?”

EG: I concur. She is involved with three men.
KHS: It’s not so much that Yeon Yee is popular, but that there are phases in life when lots of toxic guys approach. And if everyone looks carefully around them, there are relationships with the opposite sex that came about with various emotions. Or please just think of it as a fantasy (laughter). I feel a progressively greater sense of responsibility every time I do something. The thought that even if the first one is unskilled, the next one has to be better. At least so that people who are watching (reading) don’t feel uncomfortable.

EG: If one looks at the back cover, there are words of recommendation from CEO Yang Hyun Suk (of YG Entertainment) and Representative Jung Seung Hye (of Morning, a film production company). Who are those two people to you?
KHS: You know publishers like it if a famous person writes the words of recommendation. Although I have many famous friends, by nature I’m not good at asking for favours. It feels burdensome to receive something for free. [With this personality,] the people that I feel most comfortable asking for favours are my family and President Yang Hyun Suk. Meanwhile, Representative Jung Seung Hye is like the manager of my life. She is the one who encouraged me to write and put me in touch with a publisher. She wrote a recommendation even before I requested one.

EG: This is sad to talk about, but Jung Seung Hye passed away this past May. Your sadness must have been great considering your special relationship; has your heart recovered now?
KHS: There were articles that said I collapsed from exhaustion at the viewing, but I’ve never collapsed. Strangely, there are many false reports such as this about me. Of course I did cry a lot. But it was a situation that had been forecast to some degree, and I didn’t think it was appropriate to sob impudently in front of the person who has left us. My heart was at peace to some degree because I was able to watch over her path to the very end.

EG: I heard that she helped you film The Madonna (유쾌한 도우미). Thanks to her, you uniquely made your [big] screen debut as a director rather than an actress.
KHS: I’m just one of countless people who dream of movies. I wrote the scenario, worked on the script, and conceived the background music on my own because it was fun, but I was lucky to get the opportunity to turn it into a movie, book, and soundtrack. To be honext, there’s not a lot that I know about the technical side of movie[-making]. I’m studying this and that, but people around me have actually told me not to learn it. That [if I do], I’ll try to do everything by myself (laughter).

EG: There were some questions raised whether the reason you were pursuing such diverse activities is because you’re not fulfilled living as an actress.
KHS: By nature, my personality isn’t satisfied with anything. Except for when I eat delicious food and say, “Ah, I’m full!” I think that no matter what I do, there’s no such thing as 100% happiness. To be honest, I’m not sure of myself. A person’s emotions are countless, change everyday, and differ depending on who you’re with. Anyhow, I do think I’m an interesting character.

EG: Film, book, picture…. I’m curious about the next project we’ll see you in.
KHS: There are plans for an album to be released. You could say that it’s a new age record; I did all of the composing and some famous musicians play the music. There’s some orchestra music, and we’re going to put in one song. (KP’s note: I believe by song she means a song with lyrics, as opposed to just instruments.) This record has been in the making for two years and the compositions were finished last year. The book and exhibition were also in the works since awhile ago, but all of the finished products were unintentionally released one after another.

EG: You composed the theme song for The Madonna. How did you come to learn composition?
Other people think that I received the benefit of private education, but our household wasn’t that well-off. However, I was heavily influenced by good teachers when I was young. The instructor at the piano academy I attended during elementary school particularly liked me, so she taught me piano at practically no cost. [She/He] let me come play the piano any time and guided me in chord, composition, and voice training.

EG: Do you receive counsel about your music from CEO Yang Hyun Suk?
KHS: Yes. I call anytime and beg, “I created a song today; please listen to it once”. But I can’t understand the music that the president makes, and [he] can’t understand the music that I make. He says, “I don’t know because it’s too difficult”, about an instrumental piano piece that I made. So he left us in charge of this album.

EG: ‘Us’ is referring to yourself and the staff, right? It seems like you enjoy working with lots of different people.
KHS: You feel more alive that way. Whatever entertainers do, they are left on their own for the results (judgment). Even when filming a drama with lots of staff, there are many cases where the criticism is just towards the actors. Because of the public eye, there’s no choice but to hide yourself. But that’s not necessary when doing other projects. I can say my opinion without discretion and argue if something doesn’t suit me. And then when the finished product comes out, we’re joyful together.

EG: There are rumours of misunderstanding that these other kinds of activities are for marketing a more elite image.
KHS: That’s definitely not true. I’m actually very ordinary. I’m the most lacking out of all of my friends. Nonetheless, I’m simply jumping into things to enjoy life without being too cautious of judgment [now]. People around me tell me often, ‘Why are you being brainwashed by society? Don’t live so modestly.’

EG: Writing literature, drawing pictures, and making music – what goal are you working towards while doing all of this?
KHS: I have no greed to earn a lot of money or attain high status. I dream of an ordinary life of barbequeing meat and drinking beer with my friends at a house with a yard. Paintings and music are [...] not my life goals. Although as I do it, my greed (ambition) increases, I try not to forget my original purpose at those times. I think I’ll become unhappy if I get too attached.

Are you a SoEul fan? Do you want to know how much Kim Bum (Bummie) and Kim So Eun (Eunnie) have in common? Yeah? Great, then I have some SoEul mates' trivia for you and some cute pictures that would make you say "ah they're so meant for each other". So lets start with the trivia:

Bummie and Eunnie both attend Chung-Ang University, and have classes together.

Bummie’s idol is Jo In Sung, and Eunnie’s idol is Ha Ji Won. Jo In Sung and Ha Ji Won starred in the melodrama “What Happened in Bali”, which garnered high ratings.

Bummie played the role of a lovable son in “Outrageous Women”, whereas Eunnie played the role of a lovable daughter in “The Show Must Go On”

In “Gosa – Bloody Midterms”, Bummie was stabbed in the back by a psycho classmate, and in “Someone Behind You”, Eunnie was stabbed in the back by her psycho sister.

Bummie played a student in “Gosa”, unraveling the murder case in the movie. Eunnie filmed* “Fourth Period Murder Mystery”, acting as a detective to find the solve the murder mysteries.

Bummie was cast in the movie “71″ with Seung Ri and Yoo Seung Ho, but later had to drop due to scheduling conflicts with the drama “Dream”. Eunnie was cast* for the movie “Fourth Period Murder Mystery” with Yoo Seung Ho, but had to drop due to scheduling conflicts with the drama “The Man Who Can’t Get Married”. Both “71″ and “Fourth Period Murder Mystery” had a common actor – Yoo Seung Ho.

Bummie acted as the youth version of Song Seung Heon in “East of Eden”, and Eunnie acted as the youth version of Chae Si Ra in “Empress Chun Chu”. Both roles had many emotional scenes, showcasing their acting abilities.

Bummie is the model for cosmetic product “It’s Skin”, and Eunnie is the model (along with Yoona) for “Clean & Clear”.

Bummie was the model for Maxim Coffee, Eunnie was the model for Pocari Sweat (both beverages, although Pocari Sweat is an energy drink, but both contain caffeine right?)

In both of Bummie and Eunnie’s new dramas: Dream & Man Who Can’t Get Married, they are the 2nd male/female role, and they both work with their seniors: Joo Jin Mo & Ji Jin Hee respectively. And they both have a character pining for them Hong Ah Reum & Yoo Ah In respectively (Now I notice even the other actor’s names have something in common: JIN and AH).

Both Bummie and Eunnie had a spread in the magazine High Cut.

* Note: Because the director was changed in FPMM, the new director wanted to refilm the entire movie when So Eun had already filmed 80% of the movie already. Since she was too busy with her drama “The Man Who Can’t Get Married”, she dropped the movie deal. Therefore she was cast (and dropped) and filmed (but will be cut out).

more trivia:

Eunnie mentioned in Boys Over Flowers behind the scenes that she hopes her future boyfriend will look at her only. Bummie mentioned in a recent magazine article that once he has a girlfriend, he will look at no one else but her.
Bummie said in another magazine that when he’s not working, he hopes to be with someone who can make him smile and bring him happiness. In the Bonjuk interview, Bummie mentioned that Eunnie was someone who always greeted others with a smile, and seems to be able to give others energy (make them happy).
During the SectionTV interview, whenever Ga Eul-yang’s name was mentioned, Bummie’s expression changed, and sometimes seemed like he was fantasizing. He claimed his ideal type was someone who was younger than him, which was different from his old answer of liking petite and older women (this was a long time ago).
It seems like Bummie’s expression changes a lot when Eunnie’s name is mentioned, because during the F4 Talk Special his smile was a little different when the hosts talked about Eunnie. He even knows the titles of all of Eunnie’s works.
During a Boys Over Flowers signing session, the host asked Bummie who left him the deepest impression, and he said it was Ga Eul-yang, and thanked everyone for naming them the Soeul couple on behalf of him and Ga Eul-yang.
During a concert, the host asked how he felt when he was dumped by previous girlfriends. He said he was too busy taking care of Ga Eul-yang to think about that.
During an interview, Gu Hye Sun was asked to choose her favorites out of F4. She didn’t pick Yi Jeong or Woo Bin, but Bummie said it was fine because he already had Ga Eul-yang.
During the interview at New Caledonia (the video is on tudou, I’ll fetch it soon), Minho asked Bummie “You have a scene with So Eun tomorrow, do you want to get familiarized with her?” Then Bummie took over the script book, and very shyly requested for the interview to stop.
Bummie mentioned that he was very glad to have worked with many female actresses such as Kim So Eun, Park Shin Hye, Go Ara… but he mentioned So Eun first, and the rest were in order. It appears So Eun made more of an impression on him, and his fellow co-star Nam Gyuri in Gosa wasn’t even mentioned.
During a Japan interview, Bummie said that if he got the chance he would still play the Yi Jeong character, because if he didn’t, then he would have to watch Ga Eul-yang get paired up with someone else. When asked what his ideal type was he answered: someone who is younger than him, has long natural hair, no glasses, has double eyelids, doesn’t color her nails, someone he can exercise with, and who likes to wear jeans. When asked if he would choose between love or friendship, he would choose love.

His ideal type sounds awfully familiar doesn’t it? And Eunnie skied for 10 years (which fits with the exercise thing).

Eunnie has said that Ga Eul has become a second name/nickname to her, so it makes you wonder whether Bummie is talking about Ga Eul-yang the character, or Eunnie.

We don’t know whether Bummie knew about Eunnie’s works beforehand because she’s a great actress, or he researched because of her, but the latter one makes more sense since he wouldn’t just research about a random actress he never met right?

And since Bummie would choose love over friendship, if he likes his fellow friend, he would do something about it right?

Pretty boy Kim Hyun Joong of SS501 who played the role of Yoon Ji Hoo in Boys Over Flowers confessed that he ran away from home for 6 months. In the drama Kim Hyun Joong had servants serving for him but in real life he experienced lot's of hardships.

He made a living by carried bricks, delivered fried chicken during his 2nd year in secondary school. For 5 years, he has been thrifty and saved up about 1 billion won. With a good business mind, he used the money that he had saved to open a fried chicken store with his childhood playmates in Seoul.

Korean handsome star Won Bin and Yoon Sang Hyun always been mistaken that they came from a wealthy family. In fact, they are both from hard working family before they debut, Kim Hyun Joong is one of them.

When Kim Hyun Joong was in secondary school, he dislike studying but love playing music. Because of this he quarreled with his parents and ran away from home for six months. During these six months, he idled around on the street.

There was time when he felt so hungry that he went to the noodle shop and ate without paying. There was also time when he got drunk and got beaten badly by the gangsters. He slept in an empty house and almost got hit by stones. Being through all these hardships, he decided to save up money and do something great.

Kim Hyun Joong said: “During that time, I carried bricks, delivered fried chicken and work as a waiter in the restaurant. I accepted any job as long as I can earn money from it. After which I managed to save up to 1 billion won and I felt a great sense of accomplishment.”

Q2. Your nicknames?

JunSu: Because of my ‘Gourd Hair’ I was given the name of Strawberry (A cartoon character). And also I was given the name of ‘Jun Lib’ as I am good with ad lib during events and performances. Also, fans like it when I wear casual wear and I get the nickname of ‘casual wear ganji’
Nich Khun: My chinese astrology is the dragon, but as I was fat when I was young, my father calls me by pig dragon.
TaekYeon: Since my surname is Ok, they will call me Ok-soo-soo (sweet corn).
WooYoung: My name plus my fleshy cheeks give me the nickname of WooDong.
JunHo: Because I play football well and I like to do fighting, I am called the fighter.
ChanSung: Because of my name I got called HwangGa, HwangSa and also maknae (youngest)

Q3. Opportunities given to you to be a singer?

JaeBum: My mom want me to go audition, so I went and passed.
JunSu: I was given the opportunite when I saw Stevie Wonder’s live video
Nich Khun: I met up with the casting team when I went to see JYP concert and with that I got to do the audition.
TaekYeon: I did the audition in the states, and went into JYP Entertainment.
JunHo:During high school year 1, I did theatre and liked dancing and singing.
ChanSung: Through Super Star Survival I entered JYP Entertainment as an actor, but I got the interests to be a singer after receiving singing and dancing lessons.

Q4. If you rate yourself now, how many points are you out of 10 points?

JaeBum: 6 points. I’m still lacking during performance on stage. But I’m still working hard on singing hence I give myself
JunSu: 3 points. I still need more self-management.
Nich Khun: 7.9. Even though I go on broadcast programmes alot, I don’t alot and that is lacking.
TaekYeon: 0. I think I still need to work much more harder.
WooYoung: 1 point. The points will go up higher in the future.
JunHo: 5 points. The reasons are ‘Let me think about it’
ChanSung: 5 points. It just is.

Q5. The member with the strongest ‘beast idol’ image?

JaeBum: TaekYeon, ChanSung, and me. But I feel that I eat a lot and did not manage my expressions well. But JunSu and WooYoung are the opposite.
JunSu: TaekYeon and ChanSung. They eat very well and also sweat well. Those were the times they really look like beasts.
Nich Khun: TaekYeon. He does beasty noises everyday and do strange expressions.
TaekYeon: I think it is me. And opposite will be Nich Khun? He has the angel face.
WooYoung: TaekYeon. So scary.
JunHo: There is not members who are like to the extent of being beasty. In my opinion, everyone is gentle.
ChanSung: TaekYeon hyung.

Q6. Other entertains the members are close to?

JaeBum: Boom. I got very close to him through the programme ‘떴다 그녀’.
JunSu: Big Bang GDragon, TaeYang; YooGun, VJ HongKyu. I got to know GDragon and TaeYang during training days and we got close. YooGun is also from DaeGoo as I am and we are close. And VJ HongKyu we just got to know each other naturally.
TaekYeon: Boom. We got close as we do many broadcast programmes together.
- Nich Khun: And he takes care of us a lot.
TaekYeon: KWill, Boom, 2AM, WonderGirls.
WooYoung: I’m the closest to the members.
JunHo: I’m also closest to the members. If I have the chance to I want to be close to other entertainers.

Q7. And your ideal type?

JaeBum: Someone who does aegyo to the appropriate extent, and don’t pretend to be pretty, and as compared to makeup and I like peopl e who have pretty ‘fresh face’ better.
JunSu: Someone who smiles prettily and don’t lie. And I like someone who is wise when it comes to whatever situations.
Nich Khun: Kind, and treats parents well, and someone who is not a ’soybean paste girl’.
TaekYeon: I used to pretty pretty and smart girls but now I like girls whodo aeyo much.
WooYoung: I like girls who are truthful.
JunHo: I like someone who loves me, and don’t pretend much.
ChanSung: I like girls who are natural. I would lik e a lovely girl who do not pretend and is funny.

Q8. The most difficult/tiring time?

JaeBum: 13th January 2005 is the first day I went to JYP Entertainment. I was away from my family for the first time and I was not able to speak (Korean) well, and I don’t know the place well… And these had made it difficult.
JunSu: It seems like they are the trainee days. I went into JYP Entertainment with the thought of just singing but I was demande of dancing practise too and I went through them after Park JinYoung hyung told me to. And we were not allowed to drink water in the 3 hours of practise and I went to the toilet to drink tap water. And I remembered how tiring the lessongs were. I had a 4-years training period and there were many times when our debut seemed tiring.
Nich Khun: There were times when I did not receive acknowledgement even though I had put in much effort to prepare. Those when the m ost difficult times.
TaekYeon: There were times when we were so busy we went around without sleep and the work never seem to end, and when there were problems that arised it was the most difficult times.
WooYoung: There were times when I reached my limit trying to do better and work hard in dancing and singing. Those times were mentally the hardest.
JunHo: There were the lonely times when I don’t get the acknowledgement even though I’ve put in much effort and when I can’t find my own charms.
ChanSung: I was not doing well when it comes to acrobatic training during the trainee days. And I personally am not someone who can sing well and there were times when I find it tough singing.

Q9. Your greatest interests these days?

JaeBum: Piano, building on my capabilities, and I want to earn money and buy things for my parents.
JunSu: Composing and writing lyrics

“We would like to sing a song which remains in memory”

In Japan we’re TOHOSHINKI, in Korea we’re TVXQ. While those two are actually similar, yet somehow it feels different, but while we’re doing long activities the two names get closer and closer bit by bit.

When we did the Japanese debut, we were already popular in Korea, yet we were still no one in Japan. Honestly, at first we were confused of it.

Also the system of the two companies are different. In Korea, after 1 album is released in a year, afterwards by several month promo activities are done, but in Japan, we have been busy to do the whole promo activities even from a year before.

When we hold concert in Korea and are singing ballad, audiences are singing together in a big voice, but the Japanese tend to stay still and are listening quietly.

At first when I saw them quiet, I was in shock, didn’t my song reach them? But now I understand that it’s all because the different culture and everyone is actually the same (in excitement) so it’s all right.

My dream as the time passing, is to continue singing nice songs which remain in memory of people. I think that’s the happiest thing can happen to an artist.

“The culture and language are different”

When I was in 3rd junior high school, I was scouted, and entered into the entertainment world. Entering entertainment industry which I didnt even know what it looked like before, yet once I passed the audience, the lessons given to be an artist were piled up.

The first time I decided to enter entertainment industry, my parents highly opposed, but I did persuade them a lot, and finally they let me go and do what I love. My participation in TOHOSHINKI is now still supported whole heartedly by them.

To work in a foreign country, as language is important, I watch many Japanese dramas and movies to learn Japanese. The word, “let’s go and see” is one I still remember until now.

Between Japan and Korea, the culture and character of the people are different. When we’re active in Japan, we don’t only change in term of music, but we also try to adapt in the life aspect. Right now we’re really busy, however if we receive a long holiday, I’d like to heal myself in a place of many green trees such as mountain and forest where there are not so many people in it.

The members’ images that I see… Junsu as the mood maker, Changmin as the determined youngest, they play important role, it’s settled. Yoochun the romantic while Jaejoong is the realist, it creates a balance. I myself just realized this yesterday, therefore this question really is in good timing (laughs).

In the past, as the leader, I had to appear first and pulled everyone out. But now as everyone has grown, the necessity to do that has gone. Sometimes you may notice it’s Changmin who takes that job of mine (laughs).

Now, I’m not a leader, I’m just a part that complete the missing one as a teamwork.

We as 5 people works together is a fate. We see all of us equally. When we’re in joy, the joy is multiplied by 5, while when we’re in sorrow, the sorrow is divided to 1/5, it’s a pleasant thing.

TOHOSHINKI is my house which becomes my home. Even when I’m going to the distance, once upon a time, it will always be an important return place of me.

“I feel the charm of song that has many secrets”

I self learned piano as I always love the sound of piano since I was young. When work ends, I would just sit down in front of piano, and the melody is coming down naturally to my mind, it’s my way to relieve stress.

Writing lyrics and composing are things I used to do by my own will, but now when it reaches the point where everyone requests me to do that, I feel a little pressure (laughs).

When composing ballad song about love lost, it’s often that the song is written based on self-experience. But for me, instead making the whole of it based on experience, I tend to compose it a half by experience and half by fiction.

OST of movies is personally one I like to listen. Soundtrack has many secrets to awakening imagination. Especially for now I love to listen to soundtrack CD “Between Calmness and Passion” (静冷と情熱のあいだ).

"I want them to know more about us"

It’s been 4 years since we began activities in Japan. I feel able to work well and make progress in my Japanese. I’m now accustomed to variety shows (laughs)

We appear (in variety shows) to enjoy each opportunity that people will get to know more about us.

In the tour that started in May, Junsu was injured by accident, but it’s being so delightful to see the increasing number of audiences. Our male fans in Japan are also more than ones we have in Korea, it really becomes encouragement to us.

TOHOSHINKI songs are also now broaden from anime songs to dance songs, and as the range is so wide, even in the concert we received audiences from children to adults. The fan base is wider compared to one in South Korea.

Eventhough now we’re accepted in Japan, honestly I still have lack of confidence. I’m still thrilled to see so many people from stage, but there are so many of them still don’t really know about us, therefore we need to work harder.

SNSD, 2NE1, 4 Minute were the girl groups that are going strong lately, but now even Kara, Brown Eyed Girls, T-ara are also planning to be involved in this tight competition of ‘Girl Groups showdown’ in this month of August at the music industry.

After many enquiries on whether they would be participating in the special “Boys Over Flowers” Premium Activity in Japan on the 6th of September, we’re here to bring you news that SS501 and T-max are going to be participating! Just in April, SS501 sang “Because I’m Stupid” at JCB, Japan. They also sang a few other songs, including Kim Hyun Joong’s solo. T-max, on the other hand, sang the main theme for the show, “Paradise” and “Bad for the Heart”. Kim Joon also performed a rap. The various performances made fans at the scene go wild. This upcoming acivity will be similar to those held before, performances of the main songs. Meanwhile, fans will just have to wait for the opening of “Boys Over Flowers”.

And let's not forget to wish our dear T-Max a happy 2nd year anniversary. More music, more dancing and more tours! Hwaiting!

Synopsis:

T-MAX is made from ‘Triple, Trinity’ and such which contains 3 meaning in the word’s first alphabet T. And will present the energy and talent till MAX form phrase ‘3 perfect group and their dominance ‘ that’s forms the team.

To be able to present R&B, Rock’s charming singing by Shin Min Chul, possessing the special neutral vocal from Park Yun Hwa and have Kim Jun’s outstanding deep voice rapping. These three have made up the T-MAX group. It was borned and achieved after they have been trained for almost 3 years.

From the start of the process, their music and style have attracted japan’s eye, which resulted in a lot of japan workers’ participation, it seems that their later album creation was made in Japan itself. Girls' Generation (Hangul: 소녀시대; Hanja: 少女時代) is a South Korean nine-member girl group formed by SM Entertainment in 2007. Its members include (in order of official announcement) Yoona, Tiffany, Yuri, Hyoyeon, Sooyoung, Seohyun, Taeyeon (the leader) , Jessica, and Sunny. International Girls' Generation fans usually refer to the group as SNSD, the acronym of the group's Korean name So Nyeo Shi Dae. Many of the members had already pursued entertainment careers before the group's debut through music videos, commercials, and others. Their official fanclub is known as S♡NE (소원, soweon), named after a song from their debut single. ─Right now, you’re working coming between Korea and Japan.
SOL(AKA S) Yes, that’s right.

──Do you have any Japanese places you found that you like?
G-DRAGON(AKA G) Here (unit record company). Since we come here often, it feels as if it’s our house.

──Living in Japan, something you haven’t gotten used to?
G As expected, language. It feels stuffy not being able to communicate. But because 1 month hasn’t passed since we came to Japan, it’s more that we don’t know, rather than we haven’t gotten used to it. For example, if we don’t know the streets, there’s a lot of discomfort regarding that but people around us have been helping us, so we’re getting by.

──Of the opposite, what’s something that fits so well that you can say, “I might be Japanese?”
G Shopping. Shopping is totally OK (laugh).
D-LITE(AKA D) And food. Japanese food fits my taste. It’s good.

──Japanese food you like the most?
D I like it all, but I like especially fish and seafood.

──Korea has a lot of seafood too, right?
D That’s right. There’s a lot, but since the place is different, the food is also a little different.

──What do you think about the Japanese music scene?
S I felt that Japan is a music market that prides itself in the world after I came to Japan, and I thought there’s really a wide variety of genres of music. For me, when I’m searching for CD’s of different music genres, Japan is quick with new albums, and is great for shopping. Also, there’s a lot of chances to see overseas artists’ performances. In that way, I’m feeling that we’re moving forward to win or lose earnestly.

──You say that this major debut single 『MY HEAVEN』was a favored song in Korea.
G It was part of an album that we released in Korea. In Korea, it has the title “Heaven,” and this song received love from everyone outside of the title song. When we were thinking at the time of our Japanese major debut, what song would stimulate everyone’s hearts, we thought of this song. It has emotion, it was touching, and a melodious song, so we thought Japanese people might like it for sure. The Korean “Heaven” has lyrics that are bright. However, Japan’s “My Heaven” was made to have lyrics that were touching and sad, so it’s different in that way too.

──This song was arranged by G-DRAGON, what did you have in mind as the point?
G I put the most effort in putting in a melody that fit well with the track. Also, I thought having the song and melody together, not separate, was important as well.

──What was singing in Japanese like?
G At first, it was hard because I didn’t know the meaning of the lyrics. However, I practiced because I wanted to transfer a right feeling to everyone. I thought that from now on, I should work harder.

──Weren’t you surprised or anything like that at the difference of the groove that comes with language?
T.O.P(AKA T) Since I didn’t think that pronunciation had anything to do with giving life to the groove, so in that aspect, I had no real difficulties that were worth pointing out. However, it was difficult in the way that I wanted to make something that when Japanese people heard it, they would think, “Oh, that’s not bad.” When we were singing, if we thought that we were slacking on the accent or pronunciation of a part, we practiced that part over and over and then recorded it.

──Thoughts about『EMOTION』?
V.I(AKA V) We thought that was a club sound. Something that would work on the floor. At any rate, I think it’s a song that when you listen to it, you get attracted to it by the beat or the sound.

──The lyrics, quite sexy, it’s a song that shows the inside of the mind with feeling.
T Look, we’re sexy (laugh). Since we’re cool (laugh).

──Out of the 5 members, who fits the best with this song’s lyrics?
S (In a joking manner) It’s V.I.(laugh)
V Kekeke (bitter smile)

──Does that mean that the most handsome is V.I. (Laugh)
T Because he’s cool.
G (In Japanese) “Precisely” (Laugh).

──What did you think of when making your 2nd single『Gara Gara GO!!』
G When we release something in Korea, we always think that we want to show a new, different side to everyone. Because of that, we promote without hindrance to genre, and we thought we should do that in Japan as well. So,『MY HEAVEN』had a quite cozy melody, but we thought our 2nd song should have a strong rhythm to it. So making that difference, we wanted to show ourselves.
V With the song as well, for『Gara Gara GO!!』we tried to make it so that the listener can listen to it feeling happy. So that we can bring life to the exciting rhythm of that song.

──『TOP OF THE WORLD』is a calm, medium tempo R&B song.
G Outside of the R&B-like parts, I think that there’s inklings of hip-hop in it too. Also, there’s a dark feeling to it too.

──After these 2 works, your first album is finally being revealed in August. Are you working earnestly on the album now?
G That’s right. We are in the midst of producing.
S When our schedules for the day end, we go straight to the recording studio. Recently, every day is pretty crazy (bitter smile).
T Yesterday, we stayed up all night recording, too.

──What do you think it will be about?
S We’re busily in the middle of producing, but since August is summer, we’re including a lot of songs with a strong beat that will make the listener happy when listening to it during summer.
G Since we chose a lot of songs that we ourselves liked, I’m sure that listeners will like it too.
T This album is great. I have a lot of confidence in it. (in Japanese) “Precisely” (laugh)

──Lastly, we request a message to your Japanese fans.
S We’re having a major debut this time, but to the fans who watched us before that, in the Indies days, we want to keep promoting to meet the expectations of our Japanese fans. Please look forward to us.
T This time, because we’ll be staying in Japan for a long time, there will be a lot of chances for us to meet Japanese fans. We also think that it will be great if we can perform on a lot of stages in Japan, so we’re anxious. Also, more than anything, we want to surprise fans! I want to surprise everyone so they will stop and think, “Up until now, there were a lot of Korean singers who promote in Japan, but in Korea there’s this kind of singer!”

──Becoming BIG in Japan as well, it would be good if you could eat lots of yummy Japanese seafood.
D No, we already ate a lot. (laugh)
T That’s right. (in Japanese) “Tuna!” I really like it! (laugh)

●In charge of being the maknae. Someone who gives you energy. He takes it even when I tease him a lot (laugh).

●He’s really bright, and pays attention to every little detail, with no carelessness.
Q: What’s attractive about D-LITE’s “voice”?
●Thick, and because it has weight to it, it’s deep. A necessary voice for BIGBANG that’s sort of like a pillar that holds it up.
Q: What’s D-LITE’s role in the group?
●Sort of a mood maker. A happy virus that makes other people around him happy.

Q: D-LITE, what do you think of T.O.P.?
●Even though he’s the oldest of the members, he stays close to the people younger than him and without any barrier between, he cares for you. A very warm person.
Q: What’s attractive about T.O.P.’s “voice”?
●Mid-low pitch. If you hear it once, you can’t forget it. It has that much individuality to it.
Q: What’s T.O.P.’s role in the group?
●A joking character. When we’re doing something next to him, he goes and raps or something. (laugh)

──Congratulations on your Japanese debut!
SOL(AKA S) The debut song 『MY HEAVEN』 is a collaboration by G-DRAGON and Japanese DJ DAISHI DANCE, who he liked before. We decided on this song as the debut song because it had the best response during last year’s tour.

──Aren’t Korean fans lonely because you moved on to Japan?
G-DRAGON(AKA G) Everyone’s supporting our Japanese debut, and since my album’s coming out soon, it’s okay!
D-LITE(AKA D) Right now in Korea, our commercial is having more than 10 editions, too.

──How did you prepare for your Japanese debut?
S First, it was studying Japanese. However, the only people that can speak in Japanese are V.I, D-LITE, and myself, and the rest can listen, but they can only speak a little bit.
T.O.P(AKA T) We decided to speak only in Japanese as much as we can with the staff.

──You are living together.
S In Korea, all of us lived together in a dorm but in Japan, it’s like a mansion.
Renting three rooms, D-LITE and I, G-DRAGON and V.I., TOP and the manager are together. The manager does everyone’s laundry. For food, there’s always a traitor, so for health purposes, we eat Korean food.
V.I(AKA V) We all have different habits when sleeping. D-LITE is always in the same position until morning. SOL wakes up right away when there’s any sort of noise. For me, my head and my feet totally switch positions.
G When I fall asleep, I don’t wake up. Even in the morning, I can’t wake up. (Laugh)

──Whose room is most clean?
D Is it G-DRAGON?

──Tell us everyone’s personalities. How about D-LITE?
V He’s bright, and a mood maker.
S Somehow, he’s really like a celebrity. With lots of secrets.

──Tell us your secret!
D Not going to the bathroom. Since I’m a celebrity. (Laugh)

──How about SOL?
D He’s accurate about every matter, and tries hard even to the little things.
V Because his thoughts about music are deep, on the stage his charisma is great!

──Does SOL have any secrets?
S My hair doesn’t grow even after a few years! (laugh)
T Because his hair is a figure (Laugh)

──What about V.I.?
V To tell the truth, lately my bowels have been very weak…. (all laugh). This is a big problem!
D He thinks of the stuff that other members can’t think of. He’s a cute maknae.

──T.O.P?
D When he sings or acts, he’s really cool, and in daily life, he’s a hyung.
V He has humor.

──What about G-DRAGON?
D He’s the leader, and he’s strict about work, but he tells us good things.
V He’s really keen about the mood, so he knows right away when you did something wrong. The reason my stomach hurts is probably G-DRAGON’s fault. (laugh)
G I always treat you very nicely!!

──What might have changed from the time of debut?
G When we were rookies, we just worked hard, but now, we have no freedom, so it would be nice if we could think of the future. I think we grew psychologically.
T As much as we experienced over a short period of time, I think we grew quickly too. We had a lot to learn about human relations, and I think one by one we got deeper and more meticulous.

2ne1's Individual Interview

One of the hottest stars in the Kpop scene, 2ne1, did an interview with the same set of questions but different answers. Take a peek:

Starting with gorgeous leader C to the L

When did you start dreaming to be a singer? And what type of singer do you aim to be?

From young, my dad had liked music. I grow up listen to music freely and gaining interests in it. The singers I really look up to are Lauryn Hill from the Fugees and Madonna. I see them as historical female musicians, really cool.

Your expressions and your acting in ‘I Don’t Care’ is really good. What were you thinking as you were acting?

Before our team hits the stage, we will cheer out ‘Let’s play’. Also I take the time to think about the day’s performance’s concept. And because even though it is just one concept, each member’s way of expressing the concept is different, each of us show a different type of charms. I think of the concept and related it to the lyrics.

What are CL’s charms in the eyes of other members?

Sandara – A friend more fun than myself. She is polite in front of unnie and oppas, but she does a lot of aegyo (acting cute). Sometimes I feel like calling her unnie because of the good care she shows. She helps me with my clothes and fashion, and I also received much help from her in many ways. I think her eye-smile is really cool too.
Bom – She is really clever. She shows a side that is really like a leader. She is the brain of the group.
MinJi – She is very thorough with her own work. She is really caring as well. She is also very dedicated when it comes to clothes and choreography. She has also a very special sense of fashion.

I heard that to become a YG trainee, you had brought your audition CD directly to CEO Yang Hyun Seok. Where did you get such bravery?

I think of this as my last resort. Back then I was thinking if this does not work, I’ll just have to try something else. I heard that to be able to meet Yang HyunSeok you have to wait everyday at the company building and even have to stay overnights there. And to prepare my demo tape, I had put in a lot of practice and it was one of the most hardworking times of my life. I think of it and without fear I went for the challenge. I hope that is not the time when my passion is buring the highest.

Anything you want to say to your fans.

The other members have said that I was fun and like to act cute but I’m someone who cannot express myself well. I am more free around people I’m close to. But to say to my mother and fans it is a little improper. Even though we don’t get to mention much usually, we think of our fans as strong support. Previously on SBS Inkigayo on 12th July, it was raining so heavily but we are thankful that our fans came and show support.

When did you start dreaming to be a singer? And what type of singer do you aim to be?

I liked music since young, and I appear in a lot of kids singing contests. ANd also because I like to follow and sing along to pop songs, I wanted to be a singer naturally. I remember that I wanted to really be a singer when I was 13. I want to sing seeing Beyonce and Mariah Carey. Especially, I want to learn the strong vocal and performance power of Beyonce.

Your expressions and your acting in ‘I Don’t Care’ is really good. What were you thinking as you were acting?

I just come up with whatever suits the lyrics. I try to act pretty a little to (laughs). I was told by the production team to act pretty on SBS Inkigayo on 12th July too.

What are Park Bom’s charms in the eyes of other members?

CL – She is a 8-dimensinal girl. She is a really cute and extraordinary unnie. She is very hardworking and has great passion for singing.
Sandara – For me I try to go gag and think ‘I should be funny’ but for Bommie she has the natural talent to make people around her laugh. She is very caring in terms of feeding us health food and medicine. And she acts cute a lot too.
MinJi- She has a charming voice and she teaches her singing techniques very carefully. It is fun to talk to unnie. Even though we have big age gap, we are like friends. She has charms like a black hole.

It is a little late for you to debut as an idol singer, do you feel worried about it?

It will be a lie to say that I do not feel worried from the beginning. But seonbaes at YG Entertainment told me that talents are more important than age itself and told me not to worry about it. Because of them I’m ok now.

Anything you want to say to your fans.

They bring us good and presents when we appear on broadcast programmes. They know a lot about us and wrote us each member letters. I am very thankful for that and I will work harder to improve myself.

Next up is our feisty maknae Minzy

When did you start dreaming to be a singer? And what type of singer do you aim to be?

Because I like dancing, I have followed the dance steps when I watch MVs. And I also like singing and that’s why I would want to be a singer. The most impressionable MV for me is YG Family’s ‘Fine Gentlemen’. And I recently watched Michael Jackson’s concert on TV. I was born in 1994 but the performance was in 1992. Even though it was an old performance I thought it was really good. And that is why I want to be a singer.

Your expressions and your acting in ‘I Don’t Care’ is really good. What were you thinking as you were acting?

I talked to the unnies about it and think of them. And the expressions will come out naturally.

What are MinJi’s charms in the eyes of other members?

CL – Very cute. But amongst us she is the seonbae in terms of trainee days. She is very matured in the sense that she has started her trainee life from a very young age.
Sandara – Even though she is very young, it is scary that she can do self-management so well. She makes sure she gets enough sleep and also do exercise and controls herself. She is very talented in dancing and is able to grasp dance steps very well. And when the unnies are tired she will also take care of us.
Bom – She thinks very high and there are many times when she will surprise us. She is the maknae (youngest) who also takes care of the eldest unnie me. She also helps me in many ways like when we meet people, she will tell me ‘unnie you cannot say this or that’.

Even though you are the youngest, it feels that the unnies have a lot of things to learn from you. Are there times when you behave like an adult at home too?

Because I had trained for a long time and have been away from my family for long, the habits as the youngest do not come out much. And because I have learnt how to treat others from my teachers as a trainee, that is why I naturally becomes like this.

Anything you want to say to your fans.

Very thankful for showing us love without change. I believe that the fans ar always with us because I take the stage always thinking that I’m going there to enjoy the moment with our fans.

When did you start dreaming to be a singer? And what type of singer do you aim to be?

Seo Taiji and boys debuted when I was in elementary 2nd year. When I see them I thought “I want to appear on the TV like them too” and that is how I wanted to be a singer. I respect seonbae Um Jung Hwa. Even though she is pretty, cute and charming, to say in one word she is a ‘cool woman’. I want to be a singer like who can take on all sorts of transformations on stage.

Your expressions and your acting in ‘I Don’t Care’ is really good. What were you thinking as you were acting?

The time on stage is very short. That is why I think of it as a sitcom and do the acting on stage. Even though the person who taught us the choreography also taught us to be delicate in our expressions, but when we take the stage, our expressions become more exaggerated. I tend to do over-action, because I wanted it to be more fun. And because I was the one with acting skills, it was a little pressurising on me when it comes to filming the MV. (Laughs)

What are Sandara’s charms in the eyes of other members?

CL – Even though she seems cute, she is a very warmhearted unnie. She is very energetic and cheery as though going on broadcast programme for 24 hours.
MinJi – She always gives off a very happy engery. She is very unique and also a fun person to be with.
Bom – She is the atmosphere-maker in the group. She is always like a fun friend.

You play the role as the endorphine in the group. What is the motivation to be always such an energetic person?

For myself, I like doing gags and enjoys great atmosphere. It is even more fun now since the members are able to coordinate and respond well when I pull a gag or trick.

I am very very thankful for always being there no matter how we are. I am so touched that the fans waited despite the rain on SBS Inkigayo on 12th July.

2NE1 speaks up truthfully about this whole issue of ‘war of girlgroups’ and also what they think of the other girl groups like So Nyeo Shi Dae and 4Minute.

They said in a recent interview, “We feel that the other groups have their own charms and specialities and we also get to learn from them in always working so hard. Instead of calling it ‘war of girlgroups’, it is more like all of us as females showing the ‘woman power’.”

They continued, “It would be good that 2NE1, So Nyeo Shi Dae, 4Minute will be able to capture fans’ heart through our cool performances on stage. It is because we are not standing in different places, but we are altogether in one place.”

“Our weakness is our group dancing. We are weak as a group dancing together after we have been into our individual training lifestyle for long. So Nyeo Shi Dae on the other hand are really good at group dancing and we are envious of that. There are many times when we are surprised at how synchronised their angles and lines are.”

They continued, “And for 4Minute, our thoughts are ‘they are really hardworking’ and ‘they put in much effort’. They encourage/stimulate us on.”

Meanwhile, the girls are promoting their title song off their 1st minialbum ‘I Don’t Care’ gaining much popularity together with other girlgroups like So Nyeo Shi Dae and 4Minute who are also promoting their songs.
