Kpop Favorites: SHINee
SHINee (샤이니) is a five member boy group under SM Entertainment. The group's name means "those receiving the light." They made their debut on May 25, 2008 with their promotional single, Nunan Neomu Yeppeo (Replay)" ("누난 너무 예뻐 (Replay), translated as Noona, you're so pretty. They released their first album, SHINee World, on August 29, 2008.
Meet the members:
Lee Jin Ki or better known as Onew. Born December 14, 1989. He is the leader and oldest member of the group. He was discovered at the 2006 SM Academy Casting. He is the group's subvocal.
Kim Jonghyun or just Jonghyun is the main vocalist in the group. He was discovered at the 2005 SM Casting System. Born April 8, 1990, Jonghyun writes lyrics for the group.
Kim Kibum or better known as Key is a vocalist and one of the group's rapper. Born September 23, 1991. He was discovered at the 2005 SM National Tour Audition Casting.
Choi Minho or Minho is the other rapper in th group.
Born December 9, 1991, he was discovered at the 2006 SM Casting System. Before debuting with SHINee, Minho modeled for Ha Sang Baek's "Seoul Collection F/W 08-09. He was also featured in Girl's Generation's Music Video Gee.
Lee Taemin is the main dancer of the group. Born July 18, 1993, Taemin is the youngest member of the group. Taemin is a part of a sitcom TaeHee HyeGyo JiHyun, he plays the role of Junsu.
SHINee is one of my favorite kpop group, their music is refreshing. If you haven't heard their latest single Juliette, I recommend that you listen to it. It's an awesome song.
